Appropriate Golf Attire
Dress appropriately for Golf!
Most golf courses have a dress code that requires:
- Proper golf shoes. Just about every golf course requires soft spikes or a "built-into-the-sole" tread design.
- Hats are a good idea. They help keep the sun off your face and may improve your vision.
- If you are playing in cooler weather, a golf sweater, vest or jacket is practical.
- For Ladies: Golf shorts no shorter than mid-thigh, skirts, skorts or slacks with tee-shirts, blouses or sweaters. Athletic shorts, cutoffs, tennis attire, midriff exposing tops, tank tops, and halter tops are not considered to be proper golf attire.
- For Gentlemen: Shorts no shorter than mid-thigh or long pants are okay. Collared golf shirts with sleeves and mock turtlenecks are appropriate. Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, athletic shorts, sweatpants and tennis attire are not considered to be proper golf attire.
- Denim apparel is usually not appropriate.
Dressing appropriately shows respect for the other members of your group and for the game of golf.
